"Kindness: A Song for Betty" is the 4th instrumental version in a series of poems I wrote set to original music, and recorded with Bob Danziger on synthesized-sampled cello, Heath Proskin on acoustic bass, and me on piano. I wrote the "song" for my wife of sixty years, Betty (seen in a photo with Heath Proskin and me I'll also post here).

KINDNESS: A SONG FOR BETTY

All the words I know for who
You are would fail to show
All the worlds that you
Embrace within your soul.

All the empathy that you extend
To others, daily. gives birth
To splendor within and outside yourself
You may not even know.

For you seek nothing
Beyond the life you give to those
Who may not even know your name
Or think to give thanks.

All the words I long to write
About who you are may someday
Show, I hope, all the love that we
Wish to give in return to you.
